History of Honey Sunday
Since 1963, the Arc of Central Nebraska has held its annual Honey Sunday event in Grand Island to raise funds to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families in the Hall and Howard counties area. Honey Sunday is an event that originated in Grand Island as a way to raise money for a teacher’s salary. The event has since grown to a nationwide event, identifying the Arc and Honey Sunday together. This year marks the 58th Honey Sunday. |
2025 Schedule
Honey Sunday is November 2, 2024.
Honey Sunday was traditionally one-day door-to-door sales event. We no longer depend solely on door-to-door sales, but have tables at local retail outlets and have area schools and community groups that partner with us to sell our honey bears. This year, our retail sales will be Saturday and Sunday November 1st and 2nd, 2025 in Grand Island. Look for information directly from those groups, on our Facebook page, and we will post here as information becomes available.

The Honey
Since 2019, our honey supplier is Chandler's Sandhill Honey. In 2024 it was sold and renamed Happy Hive Honey. It is 100% Nebraska raw honey from Anselmo, NE.
